Melbourne Cup is a horse race that focuses on Thoroughbred which organised annually in Australia. The event starts on the first Tuesday of November and is known locally as “the race that stops the nation”.
The Melbourne Cup has a long tradition, with the first race held in 1861. It was originally over 3.219 km but was shortened to 3,200 metres in 1972.
This race is quite famous among investors, where one of the most wins by investor was Dato Tan Chin Nam (famous with his Shangri-La Hotel and MidValley Megamall) with 4 total winning back during (1974, ’75, ’96, ’08).
